If you’re visiting Nashville, chances are you’re planning to do some Honky Tonkin, or at least you should be!

The famous Broadway Street in the heart of downtown has an endless array of bars featuring good drinks and live music; if you’re lucky you might even run into some country music stars!

While in Nashville celebrating my 21st birthday I decided to do some research into these famous honky tonks to let my readers in on where the hottest spots are.

The Stage

The Stage on Broadway was the bar I’d heard the most about before visiting Nashville and after spending some time there I understand why; this is the ultimate honky tonk! The stage has the main level with a larger than normal dance floor as well as an incredibly fun rooftop patio. If you find yourself on Broadway this honky tonk is a must!

Live music? Hell yeah! Downstairs in the main bar and on the rooftop patio.

Coyote Ugly

This was the first bar on Broadway that I checked out and it was certainly a good spot to start the night. If you’re out with the guys or here for a bachelor/bachelorette party this is where you want to be. Bar top dancing and lots of body shot – some things you just need to see for yourself!

Live music? Nope, but there’s live entertainment if you count the bartenders dancing on the bar?

Tootsie’s Orchard Lounge

This honky tonk is such a favourite in Nashville that there’s even a replica in the airport. This is one of the most popular bars on Broadway and an absolute must if you’re visiting Nashville for the first time. Country music stars frequently duck in the back door from the Ryman auditorium located just across the street. This place also features a rooftop bar with an incredible view of the city.

Live music? Yep! A different live band on each of the three levels.

Wildhorse Saloon

If you’re looking to do some dancing head down to Second Avenue and bring your boots! This honky tonk is famous for its line dancing and great live bands. If you don’t know how to two step, don’t worry, they’ll teach you!

Live music? Yes!

Legends Corner

Boosting more of an older crowd, Legends Corner is still a must see for first time visitors to Nashville. This is your typical honky tonk with great music and good drinks. If you want more of a fun night out hit Legends Corner early for a quick drink before moving onto your next spot.

Live music? Of course.

Tin Roof

This is making your way into Midtown and is home to more of a younger crowd and plays typically the Top Country 40.

Live music? Yes.
