304 blog posts, 850 Instagram photos, and 30 YouTube videos later…it’s Airplanes & Avocados’ four-year blogging anniversary.
This past year of blogging has been the most hectic and exciting year yet. In the past year alone, this little travel blog has taken me to Vienna, Poland, Hungary, Italy, Portugal, Bonaire, Jamaica, Hawaii, Florida, and the Azores Islands.
I’ve had some incredible life-changing experiences this past year including visiting Auschwitz Concentration Camp, experiencing Europe’s Christmas markets for the very first time, and climbing the highest mountain in Portugal.
This year has been one of my busiest and craziest years yet, but none of it would have been possible if it weren’t for all of you. From the very bottom of my heart, THANK YOU.
Admittedly, I struggled writing this post. At the beginning of this year, I had a lot of big plans for Airplanes & Avocados and by this time I was hoping to be a lot further ahead than I feel like I am now. Unfortunately, life always has a way of never going as planned. The wild summer of travel, getting very sick at the end of it, and then jumping immediately into graduate school while also running a youth organization, all left A&A to fall through the cracks. I’m not happy with how little time that I’ve been able to dedicated to A&A lately and it’s forced me tor really re-evaluate my priorities and all of the commitments I’ve made.
I’ve decided that A&A should never and will never again be an afterthought or come second to any of my other commitments. I’ve spent a lot of time practicing how to say “no” so that I can refocus my energy where it belongs: right here.
