Tucked away in its own private corner of paradise, the Excellence Oyster Bay is one of Jamaica’s nicest all-inclusive resorts – and one of my absolute favourites! This Victorian style adults-only resort has a luxurious yet welcoming, laid back vibe. From the gorgeous pools to the white sand beach and numerous dining options, the vibe is elegantly casual.
This is one of the rare resorts in Jamaica that manages to stay away from it all, redefining “island getaway”. Situated at the end of a long, private peninsula, beyond dense mangrove forests, Excellence Oyster Bay really is tucked away, which helps make it an excellent romantic retreat or spot to celebrate a special occasion. This location is ideal for those who love true privacy in gorgeous natural surroundings, with the bright blue Caribbean Sea on one side and the bioluminescent Glistening Waters Lagoon on the other.
Rooms are spacious with options like Private Pool Suites or the coveted Beach Houses for panoramic oceanfront views. Excellence Oyster Bay sets a new bar for all-inclusive services with 8 on-site restaurants serving a variety of cuisines, 10 beautiful bars offering all-premium drinks, the gorgeous and serene Miilé Spa, and a modern state-of-the-art fitness center.
The private pool suites were my favourite feature at Excellence Oyster Bay as they afforded us the privacy and quiet we craved, while still allowing us to enjoy the beautiful Caribbean sunshine. Luxury resorts are not something that I frequent (hello student budget!), but it was nice to splurge on a stay at Excellence Oyster Bay to get the exclusive five-star experience. Clearly we made the most of it with champagne showers in our private pool suites.
If kicking back in the sunshine for a week isn’t your thing, there’s no need to worry, features are numerous at Excellence Oyster Bay, with just enough perks to make a week here easily possible without getting bored.
The Miilé Spa is a guest favourite, featuring an incredible hydrotherapy circuit and relaxation areas, with numerous rooms available for couples and individuals. There’s also a palapa near the beach for those preferring a sea-side spa day. At night, theater shows liven up the resort and the Martini Bar buzzes until late for guests looking for a refined spot to kick back with some cocktails. Aside from that, though, you won’t be bothered by any noisy parties, vendors on the beach, or shot-doing packs of spring breakers here.
There aren’t many options for activities off the resort, in fact, most guests usually only leave the property for an excursion to Dunn’s River Falls, about an hour away.
Although the resort is not cheap, you definitely get what you pay for at Excellence Oyster Bay. This secluded spot is the ultimate destination for a luxurious, relaxing getaway in the Caribbean.
