On my recent trip to Nashville I stayed in one of the most impressive hotels I’ve ever stayed in; the Hilton Downtown Nashville. While it is a part of a large chain and doesn’t necessarily boast any specific unique culture, the hotel was perfect for what I needed and greatly exceeded my expectations. Located right in the heart of music city, this place is a stone’s throw away from all of Nashville’s top sights.

From the moment you walk through the revolving doors you know this hotel is not just another in a chain. The Hilton Downtown Nashville hotel has a massive open lobby that is always bustling with people and music. There is a full service bar with a ton of seating and friendly travelers looking to socialize.

The hotel houses four restaurants for guests to choose from. I personally only ate at one of these restaurants, The Palm, and found it to be overpriced and a little underwhelming. I would skip the hotel restaurants and instead opt for some fare at any of the downtown restaurants and bars. This is surely to be an easy task and the hotel is literally within walking distance to everything. Bridgestone area is just next door and it shares a street with many famous bars and clubs. The George Jones restaurant is a short walk away as are the many honky tonks I talked about it my previous post.

The hotel is also within walking distance to many popular attractions including the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Schermerhorn Symphony Center.

Typically, this is what I look for in a hotel – proximity to attractions or easy accessibility to transportation. I’m not too much of a stickler for the suite specifics as I’m usually out and about most of the time, but it would be a crime to not give this hotel the recognition it deserves for its incredible, award winning luxury suites.

The hotel features upscale suite style accommodations with top of the line furnishings and amenities. Our suite was huge and provided us with more than enough space for a comfortable stay and workplace, even among all the laptops and camera gear. The living room area features a big couch, desk, and television, while the bedroom area features either one king size bed or two queen size beds as well an another television. The bathroom was incredibly spacious, with a large countertop and top of the line toiletries provided for guests.

The customer service was also phenomenal during out stay. Whether we called down for room service or extra towels, they were on it right away with a friendly smile.

As you may have seen in my YouTube video, the hotel also has a well-equipped fitness centre available for guests.  The gym had several cardio machines, dumbbells, and even a cable machine. It certainly went above the standard bare minimum hotel gyms I’ve seen in the past.

The hotel also has a variety of other features available for guests use such as a business centre and stunning executive lounge.

All in all, this hotel far exceeded my expectations. I was beyond pleased with the proximity of it to all of the major attractions and bars, but the top of the line suites and above and beyond customer service really put the cherry on the top of a perfect stay.

The little things were all in the details like the open glass elevators requiring key card access and the friendly staff remembering your name and drink order.

I highly recommend staying at the Hilton Downtown Nashville for anyone planning to visit music city in the future!
