They say a picture is worth a thousand words.

Today I wanted to shift from my typical blog posts to something a bit more impactful, that I think visual learners especially, will enjoy.

I’m going to be sharing ten images that tell the terrifying truth about marine pollution and the current state of our oceans. Some of these images are my own photographs taken from beautiful coastal regions around the world, while others belong to other photographers and organizations using their own voices to raise awareness about the pollution problem threatening our oceans.

Aside from short captions for context, the words end here and I’ll let the visuals do the talking.

It’s horrifying, isn’t it? I think one of the most heartbreaking ones I’ve seen recently was of a dead bird and it was pretty much a skeleton and some feathers, and where it’s stomach was there was a small collection of plastic items, including a lighter. I can’t get it out of my head.
