We’re about a month into 2018 and now is usually the time when most of us realize our new year’s resolutions were a bit too unreasonable and it’s time to revert back to our old ways.

And there’s no shame in that! Only 8% of the population actually sticks to their new year’s resolutions, so you’re not alone in ditching those goals.

The most common new year’s resolutions are tied to diet, fitness, and health. And while healthy living should always be a priority for everyone, that crazy no-carb diet you started on January 1st just has to go. After all, life is way too short to diet forever and Toronto has way too many amazing restaurants that you’ll be missing out on if you do.

If you’re like most of us and are ready to ditch those new year’s resolutions, then keep reading to find some of the most delicious places to celebrate your break up with your goals.

Wanda’s Pie in the Sky

For those looking to break up with their diet and satisfy their sweet tooth, look no further than Wanda’s Pie in the Sky. Warm, freshly baked pies are served up daily that taste like they just came out of your Grandma’s oven. If pie isn’t your thing, Wanda’s also serves up some mean cakes, tarts, and other baked goods, and featured a full brunch and lunch menu on the weekends.

Junked Food Co

Junked Food Co is my absolute favourite place in the city to enjoy a cheat day. They serve up all the crazy junk food concoctions you can think of – and even some that you can’t! Whether you’re looking for sweet, savoury, or just downright greasy, Junked Food Co has something for you. They have a menu packed with mac n cheese, deep dish pizzas, and their famous smash bags.

Descendant

If you consider pizza a food group and want to break your new year’s resolutions with the most authentic Detroit style pizza that Toronto has to offer, look no further than Descendant. The Queen street restaurant serves up its pizza in a square shape and upside down fashion, putting the sauce on last.

The Dirty Bird

What better meal to celebrate the end of your new year’s resolutions than the fan favourite chicken and waffles? The Dirty Bird has three different locations in Toronto, so no matter where you are in the city you can get your chicken and waffles fix. The restaurant serves exclusively chicken and waffles dishes, but puts a unique twist on each meal, making you want to eat your way through the entire menu.
