The Florida Keys offer a dining experience unlike anywhere else in the world.  Fresh seafood, craft beer, and unbeatable restaurant atmospheres.

Key Largo is definitely the Florida Key that I’ve spent the most time in and eating is one of my favourite things to do here! Key Largo is home to plenty of fresh seafood joints and fun dive bars that will make for an unforgettable trip to the Florida Keys.

Here are my top picks for dining in Key Largo:

The Fish House

Fish House is hands down the best seafood restaurant in the Upper Keys. (There’s a reason that it was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives!). They serve fresh, locally caught seafood in a variety of different styles, so you’ll need to visit more than once to make sure you can try them all! These portion sizes are h-e-a-r-t-y, so be sure to come with a big appetite! And save room for dessert because their coconut key lime pie is to die for!

Must try: Matecumbe Grouper

Hobo’s Café

This authentic keys eatery is an absolute must try if you find yourself in Key Largo. Hobo’s Café has an incredible atmosphere, unlike anywhere else and serves up delicious American cuisine – including top-notch seafood! All of their dishes are sourced from top quality season ingredients, derived from local fishermen and markets.

Must try: Lobster Mac n Cheese

Tower of Pizza

No matter where you are in the world, if you stay long enough, you’re bound to experience a pizza craving at some point. This is what happened to me after being in Key Largo for three weeks and so I set out to find the island’s best pizza – and I found it. Tower of Pizza features a ton of authentic Italian options including their delicious calzones and made to order pizzas. Plus the restaurant has a huge craft beer selection because nothing goes with pizza better than beer.

Must try: Calzone

Dolores Mexican Food

This food truck was my go-to spot for lunch the entire duration I was at Rainbow Reef for dive training. The taco truck is just a short walk away and is run by an incredibly sweet couple that makes the most delicious and authentic Mexican food I have ever eaten. Everything they make is fresh and made from scratch. They serve up delicious hard and soft shell tacos, burritos, enchiladas, loaded nachos, and even breakfast items like chorizo and eggs. This spot may be Key Largo’s best-kept foodie secret.

Must try: Super Nachos

Skippers Dockside

Skippers is the ultimate waterfront paradise located at Mile Marker 100 on the canal that you may have been launching your boat from earlier in the day! Skippers offers both inside and outside dining sections, though I highly recommend dining outside and enjoying the waterfront view, spacious tiki bar, and on some evenings, live entertainment. Their menu features a wide variety of options including fresh and locally caught seafood.

Must try: Key Largo Platter
